Dr Bala started practicing as a specialist in Rehabilitation medicine in 2004 at The Victorian Rehabilitation Center in Glen Waverley Victoria. Shortly after, he started his practice in the area of Traumatic Brain Injury and Multi trauma Rehabilitation alongside his interest in pain management.
He was a recipient of the Bruce Ford Scholarship through the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2005 for which he went to Uppsala University in Sweden to pursue his pilot project in Brain Injury.
On his return, he worked in the outer metropolitan suburbs in the areas of need and has worked across Melbourne Metro in public and private hospitals. Dr Bala has now consolidated his practice in public and private in the district of Illawarra and Sholhaven in Wollongong NSW Australia.
In August 2013 Dr Vaidya Bala completed AMA guides for Independent Medical Examination through the American College of Disability Medicine and American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and is now qualified to evaluate patients for permanent impairment. He is currently works with Red Health Australia to provide Independent Medical Examination assessment for the state of Tasmania. He is also accredited with Worksafe Victoria to provide Impairement Assessments and Independent Medical Assessment.
Dr Bala has received certification in application of TMS in Neurological disorders at Harvard University in 2016 and at Maastricht University in 2018 under the auspice of the European TMS Society.
In 2019 he has received a scholarship from the European College of Obesity Medicine and attended the Imperial College London, where he was certified in Obesity Management. He also attended the Imperial Weight Centre workshop and training.
In 2019, he completed the certification in Healthcare Education from The Academy of International Medical Education , University of Dundee in Scotland.
He has also completed Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Education and Leadership with University of New England NSW in 2019.
